National Women's Month Celebration

 National Women's Month

In the Philippines, the 2026 National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) is observed throughout the month of March. The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) leads the festivities, which center on reclaiming the historical power and leadership of Filipino women.

This yearly celebration is an effective reminder that Filipino women have never been mere observers but checklists to themselves to change the world around them be it the babaylans, the revolutionary heroes of the Katipunan or the current rulers of policy, science, art, and society. Even before the colonization transformed the Philippine society, women were given their place of authority and respect, their wisdom ruling the communities and their voices having the irrefutable power.

That heritage is repossessed today with a new sense of pride. Forums, exhibits and community programs are going on all over the country as a way of bringing out the role of women in all fields. Filipino women remain the most resilient, the most courageous - in boardrooms, barangays and NWMC provides the whole nation with a special time to celebrate, reminisce and re-devote themselves to a brighter future where all women will find themselves represented.
