 124th Foundation Day Of ISNHS

      The Ilocos Sur National High School 124th Foundation Day was a memorable and emotional affair that students, teachers, and the rest of the school population enjoyed. The celebration united all the participants in a show of solidarity and skill in celebrating the rich heritage and impressive success record that the school has achieved in more than one hundred years.

      Though a joyful celebration for others — not so much for me. The parade and demos were fun, but our section did not celebrate at all. Some of us immediately went home because nothing was planned for the occasion. It felt so sad, to be honest, not being able to celebrate as a whole section, especially since it was the last time we would all be together as classmates and we did not even make it memorable.

      Still, looking back, the day was not entirely without meaning. Even without a planned celebration, the moments shared during the parade and the simple presence of familiar faces were enough to hold onto. Perhaps the real foundation day memory for our section is this — a quiet, unplanned ending that, in its own bittersweet way, reflects how much we actually meant to each other. It is only when something is missed that you realize how much it mattered. And maybe that is the most honest reminder to cherish every moment while it lasts, because some lasts come without warning.
