Eat well, Live well
Eat well, Live well
As a student, staying healthy is a must—especially if you're constantly working or busy with academics. Many of us are always in a hurry because of deadlines and assignments. Some of my classmates even skip breakfast because they don’t get enough sleep and are rushing to school, since they stay up too late at night to finish outputs for multiple subjects. But skipping meals and losing sleep can weaken the body and mind, making it harder to concentrate, stay energized, and perform well in class. That’s why Nutrition Month is an important reminder for all students to take better care of our health through proper meals, rest, and habits.
As part of our Nutrition Month celebration—led by the TLE and STEP Club—our school organized several exciting events and contests, including the Nutri Jingle, digital/poster making, Nutri Quiz, and oratorical speech.
To be honest, I didn’t contribute much this time. I was selected to do beatboxing for our Nutri Jingle group and even joined the practice, but I eventually backed out. The beat and the music didn’t match well, and on top of that, I’ve always had stage fright.
Our section didn’t win, but that’s okay. Another SSC section took 3rd place in the national Nutri Jingle category with the song they composed. Later on, our class got picked to join the Food Fest competition, and we Won!
Nutrition Month is celebrated to promote awareness about the importance of eating healthy and maintaining a balanced diet. It encourages people to make smarter food choices and develop healthy habits that support overall well-being. This month also focuses on the role of nutrition in preventing diseases, boosting energy, and improving quality of life. Whether at home, in school, or in the community, Nutrition Month serves as a reminder that taking care of our health begins with what we put on our plate.
